Kindergarten Testing Information
The Target Team held an informational meeting for all kindergarten parents on the morning of Thursday, March 27, 2025, about the testing and gifted eligibility process. The recorded meeting and the Slides presentation are linked below for your review.
**UPDATE regarding Kindergarten Permission to Test forms**
We have received several questions about the following statement on the Permission to Test form and wanted to help clarify...
"I understand that my child will not be eligible for further mental ability or achievement evaluation for gifted eligibility for two years."
Students who do not qualify for gifted services in kindergarten may still be considered in first grade if their CogAT scores and/or kindergarten gifted evaluation data meet district screening criteria.
All first-grade students in Cobb County take the CogAT in the fall as part of systemwide testing, which serves as a universal screener for gifted eligibility.
