DIY Disk

Now you get to design your own disk!  Design a black and white disk to experiment to see if you can see any hidden colors that will appear with spinning. Or design a colorful disk to see what happens when it is rotated.

Fechner colors are real, but illusionary. They don't exist in the external world but do exist within our brains. While they may be subdued compared to real colors, the fact that they can spring from pure black and white is nothing short of miraculous.

The best patterns for producing colors appear to be those with just a few sets of concentric arcs. Very complicated designs tend to wash out to gray even at low spinning speed. Non-concentric arcs produce weaker colors but sometimes create the rare pink.
