Tsunamis
ACTIVITY 3: "MINUTE TO WIN IT SCAVENGER HUNT ON TSUNAMIS
For this activity,you will need to be in your "Survivor Teams." Each team will be given a set of envelopes with the Minute to Win It Scavenger Hunt Questions. As a team, strategize and decide on pairs for each set of questions. For example, two people will work on Question #1, two different people will work on #2, and two different people will work on question #3. Teammates can only repeat when everyone on the team has had a turn at a previous question. Then you can keep the same pairs or you can swap it up. To help each team be organized and know who is doing each question, there is a list available.
On the teacher's "GO!", the pairs from each team with the #1 question will begin. The students will look up the information on any web site or from their own knowledge and write it down on the Tsunami Scavenger Hunt Handout.
The first team to turn in the correct answer will earn 5 pts.; 2nd place will earn 3 pts; and 3rd place will earn 2 points; all other teams with correct answers will earn one point. Scores for each question will be kept on the digital score sheet at https.keepthescore.com.
The teacher will continue the game until all 10 questions on the Tsunami Scavenger Hunt have been answered. Team points will be added to prior points.
At the end of the semester, the team with the most points wins!
**Points should and will be deducted from a Team's score if any team members help the pair that is working on a specific question.
